Recommended Replacement Pin Box for a Lippert Rhino On a 2022 Grand Design Solitude 310

Question:

I have attached pictures of the pin box on my 2022 G Design Solitude 310. I want to replace my pin box with the flex air pin box, can you confirm that the Flex Air Rhino pin box 80771 is the correct model for my 5th wheel. Also can you send me a schematic drawing /owners manual showing all the dimensions of the Flex Air Rhino pin Box part 807711. My current pin box measurements are 1 from the front hole on my pin box to center of king pin - 13 inches - I want to confirm this distance on the 807711 - how much further back will 807711 be 2 from the top hole on my pin box down to the hitch plate is 9 inches - I want to confirm this distance on the 807711 - my concern is how much higher will the 807711 raise my 5th wheel - it is now listed at 13 feet 5 inches

Ken, so it does look like the Curt Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC65VR will work as a replacement for your current pin box on your 2022 Grand Design Solitude 310.

The Curt Flex Air is actually a bit longer than your pin box measuring 15 3/4" from the king pin to the first set of bolt holes, so it'll be 2 3/4" longer; and for the top to bottom measurement, that is going to be 16 15/16".

Thanks Bryce - I'm not concerned about the pin box being 2 3/4" longer, but if the top to bottom measurement is 16 15/16" and my current pin box is only 9" that's a 7" difference - will this make my 5th wheel sit 7" higher?? Thank you Ken

@KenT It should not, no. But you can adjust the height on both the pin box and hitch to get your trailer back to what you need if need be.

Thanks Bryce - I'm still a litter concerned about the height of the Curt Flex Air pin box - I have a superglide hitch and I can't lower it. I'm going to see if there is a rv dealer near me so I can see the hitch. Do you know of a dealer near me (44023 zip) that carries the pin box? Thanks Ken 4406683821

@KenT I do not unfortunately. I would maybe give a couple shops near you a ring and see if that's something they carry in store. Most likely you'd have to order it online though,
