Suspension Enhancement Options For A 2024 GMC 3500 Experiencing Sway With A Truck Camper

I have a 2024 GMC 3584 with a long bed, Firestone airbags and Super hitch that I have a truck camper on. I am looking to reduce sway in corners and porpoising. The airbags have done a nice job of leveling it out, but I would like a better ride. What would you recommend for front and rear sway bars and upgraded shocks?

Hey Marc,
When it comes to anti-sway bars the thicker the better they'll perform so you'll want measure the thickness of your current bars and swap them out accordingly. The thickest options we offer for your 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 are the Hellwig Front Anti-Sway Bar - 1-1/2" Diameter # HE79TR and Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar - 1-1/2" Diameter # RM25FR.
We don't currently offer replacement shocks but you can't go wrong with some Bilstein 5100's. You can also install SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSF-202-47 in the front to help with the porpoising and side-to-side rolling when making turns.
Since the air springs sit so close to the leaf spring stack your options are limited to either the TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade for Upper Overload Springs # TLA7200 if you have top overload springs or the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway-Control Kit # SSA24 in the rear. Both can help stiffen up the spring stack when weight is added to help with load leveling and sway.

Thank you for the information. I’m going to go in a step wise fashion. Starting with the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSF-202-47 in the front and the TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade for Upper Overload Springs # TLA7200. I’ll see what improvements I experience with those and then plan on sway bars. 2024 GMC 3500 AT4 Long Bed SRW Diesel with Northern Lite 10-2 EX camper
