Can I Run A Blackstone Grill On The Propane From A Jayco Travel Trailer?

Updated 02/17/2026 | Published 06/20/2024

Question:

I have a jayco 198rb travel trailer and it has a single 20 lb tank that attaches to a regulator and then follows a hose half-way back to a block that has 5 ports. 4 of the ports go to a stove, fridge, furnace, however heater and the last port has a plug in it. Id like to remove the plug and add a line to the opposite side of the rv so that I can connect it to a camping blackstone cooker when camping. What can I purchase to make that work from the male end plug in the block?

Hello James, thanks for reaching out. There is no way to connect a grill to the propane manifold on your RV. The propane coming from the manifold is already regulated, and accessories like a Blackstone grill require unregulated propane. One option is to install a Tee like part # 103537-MBS so you can connect your grill to your 20 lb tank without cutting off the gas supply to the rest of the RV.

If it were me, I would simply carry an extra propane tank to use with the Blackstone. A refillable tank like the Ignik Gas Growler X # GN37FR is a great option that will not take up a ton of space in the camper.

Hey James, how did things go with connecting your Blackstone grill using the tee or extra propane tank setup? Your results could really help others trying to power a grill from their RV’s propane system.
