Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2004 Acura MDX Towing a Travel Trailer

The Curt Hitch part # 13328 that you referenced has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity without weight distribution and 500 lbs with weight distribution. Based on the 415 lbs of tongue weight that your travel trailer has you will need a weight distribution system with this hitch. Hopefully the 415 lbs is loaded tongue weight otherwise you might be over your capacity when your loaded up and ready to tow.

If your 2004 Acura MDX has a max tongue weight capacity of 450 lbs then you will need to use that as your overall capacity since a tow setup is only as strong as its weakest component.

For a properly rated system I would recommend the Reese Weight Distribution System # RP66540. This system has a range of 200-600 which would work well as long as your loaded tongue weight is 415 lbs.

For hitch balls to go along with this system you would want the part # 19286 if you need a 2-5/16 inch ball or part # A-90 if you need a 2 inch ball.
