BAK Revolver Tonneau Covers For a 2024 Ford F-250 Long Bed and Thule TracRac SR Ladder Rack

Updated 02/19/2026 | Published 06/18/2024

Question:

Im looking to install a BAK Revolverinch tonneau cover on my 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty with 8foot bed. There is a Thule TracRac TH43003XT-000 installed. Im told that it will fit, but I have some questions. 1 Is it available in both the X2 and X4 versions, and is there a price difference? 2 What actually is the diameter of the 8foot length when fully rolled? Ive seen conflicting answers in this QandA, from 8inch to 12. 3 Can the side rails be activated to lock the unrolled section of the cover down if it is partially unrolled to protect cargo in the front area of the bed, while traveling with my 5th wheel camper connected? Obviously the remaining rolled up length and the side rail latches would be held in the proper position by alternate mechanical means, and I will also have to insure adequate nose clearance for the camper. I do have an auto-slide hitch. Thanks

Yes, we have both the BAK Revolver X2 # BAK39331 and X4 # BAK49ZR for your 2024 Ford F-250 long bed. The diameter of the cover rolled up is going to be between 10-12". This can vary as the cover often sits for oblong than a perfect circle. The 8" diameter you have seen is found on short bed trucks. And the cover can only be secured either in the fully rolled up or laid out position. There is no way to secure it partially unrolled. But as you have the Auto-Slide hitch it will ensure you have clearance since you have the long bed already.

Hey, how did the Revolver X4 work out on your F-250 with the TracRac setup? I'm curious if the rolled-up size and clearance with your auto-slide hitch matched what you expected. Your update could make it easier for others running a similar combo.

@RobinH Hi Robin, I have had no clearance issues with the rolled up cover while the camper is hooked up, as it tucks up within a couple of inches from the cab. Incidentally, it doesn’t significantly obstruct the rear window either. As for compatibility with the TracRack, the rails would need to be removed first in order to install the Tonneau frame, and then reinstalled afterwards with shims, <1/8” to raise them up above or preferably level with the Tonneau frame, because they will overlap each other. Neither system should affect the operation of the other. Regarding the AutoSlide 5th wheel hitch: I opted not to reinstall the rack system for two reasons. 1- The rails would have possibly contacted the edges of my camper (31’ Rockwood Ultralight) during a sharp turn on uneven ground, because the 5th wheel had to be installed at it’s lowest position in order to level the camper. A larger (higher) camper may not have that problem. 2- The TracRack came with the truck and I don’t need it. I hope this helps. Don
