Can Keys Be Replaced for Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack

Hello. We purchased one of these bike racks for a customer last year Order XXX and the customer lost the keys for it. The code on the lock is Y006. Can we get replacement keys for it?

Hey Kenton, thanks for reaching out!
The good news is that I can help you and your customer get a locking bike rack to transport their bikes around, but the bad news is that Curt in their almighty wisdom made the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085 with locks but for whatever reason they don't carry replacement keys for this bike rack (so why put locks on it in the first place, right?).
This means that your customer will either need to have a locksmith come out and make a new set of keys for them, or get a new bike rack that has better customer support from the manufacturer. I recommend a different bike rack so it's easier to find replacement parts in the future.
To replace the Curt rack I recommend the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z which has very similar specs to the Curt but is backed by a lifetime warranty (as opposed to 1 year) and if your customer records what key number they have, they can easily get replacements from Hollywood Racks directly if the need arises in the future - https://hollywoodracks.com/collections/spare-parts/products/sport-rider-and-trail-rider-keys
