Question:
Hi. I been trying to find the right bunk brackets to attach 2 2x8 bunks to my jet ski trailer without any luck in finding the correct hardware or brackets. A simple top swivel bracket isn’t wide enough for a 2 x 8 in my opinion or secure enough with only one bolt to the frame, but an L type vertical bracket only has holes in the center where I would bolt the bunk board too. My boat is very light. It’s a pelican bass raider 10e and its weight is only 125 lbs when empty. My question is how would I mount these 2x8’s securely to the trailer in a horizontal flat position? What brackets would be best? I been looking at corner braces that have 2 bolts to the trailer and about 5” wide with a horizontal hole pattern to drill to the bunk to secure it across its width. Just don’t know if that is the right route or if there are actual bunk brackets that exist for my scenario.

Hi Sean,
In my opinion the best way to mount your bunk boards in a flat horizontal position would be to use vertical bunk brackets, the CE Smith Heavy Duty, Vertical Bunk Brackets # CE10161GA-2, which you'd mount to your trailer frame with U-bolts # CE15283GA-2.
These are 90 degree brackets and you'll use a 1/2" bolt through the bracket to your bunk board to secure it.
