2 inch Hitch Recommendation for 2023 Subaru Forester for Bike Rack
Updated 02/17/2026 | Published 06/11/2024 >
Question:
Hi. I’m looking for a 2” hitch for my bike carrier on my 2023 Subaru forester. I notice that a number of the hitches require permanent removal of the heat shield. Is that a problem for passengers? Do you have a recommendation for the best hitch? Thanks.

Hey David, I really like the Curt hitch part # C47HR that fits your 2023 Subaru Forester for a 2 inch hitch. This is mostly hidden and only requires a temporary removal of the heat shield with some minor drilling. This is pretty standard for hitch installs and would not cause there to be any type of heat build up.
