Question:
I have a Ford Ranger shortbed with a Leer cap not a commercial cap. Im seeking a rack to carry a kayak. There are no existing tie down points.

Thanks for reaching out again Glenn!
I recommend installing the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y02-490B on your 2021 Ford Ranger Leer Cap, and then using the Lockrack Adjustable Surf Ski Carrier # LR37VR for hauling the kayak.
The Rhino-Rack roof rack system is adjustable along the tracks and you'll have to drill into your Leer Cap for the installation. The Lockrack carrier is a unique system that secures your kayak without having to use a front or rear tie-down. Simply lift your boat onto the rack and then secure it with the locking arms and you're ready to head down the road!
