Recommended Front Hitch for a 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Question:
I own a 2018 Honda Ridgeline with factory hitch bracket on the vehicle. I tried to fit a 2inch x 2inch hitch into the receiver but it would not fit. Today I visited the mechanics at the Honda dealership. They tried my hitch and it fit in an older Honda. Then they tried it on a brand new Honda and it did not fit. I heard that to get the hitch that fits the bracket, one must purchase the entire hitch kitinch which runs about $800. The service rep is checking on that. So I am curious if you have any information that would help me install a hitch on a 2018 Honda Ridgeline with a factory installed bracket.

That does sound correct if you are talking about a rear hitch. I am sorry but no one makes an aftermarket rear hitch for a 2018 Honda Ridgeline so you're going to have to go through Honda.
If you are wanting to add a front hitch, like the Curt item # C31082 you were looking at, this is the only option available.
