Hey John, so the Yakima Straight Shot hitch extender part # Y69VR that you referenced does not reduce capacity of the Yakima EXO Swing Away 2 Bike Rack # Y34ZR but instead does cut the capacity of the hitch it is installed in by 50 percent.
The carrier still has a 100 lb capacity and the bike rack is 40 lbs per bike.
