Question:
Are the standoff posts prepositioned on the length of the ladder rails or are they custom mounted by the buyer drilling rails? What is the mounting mechanism on the roof? My old one pulled out completely, leaving holes behind on top so how is that cured?

Expert Reply:
The mounting holes for the standoffs on both the Surco # SP502L and Stromberg Carlson # LA-401 are already drilled into the uprights on the ladder.
As for the holes in your roof you will want to patch and seal the holes from the old ladder before securing the new ladder. This will help prevent any leaks on your roof. The Patch Kit # QR74FR along with some Self Leveling Sealant # AL98KV is all you will need to patch the holes from your old ladder.
