Does the Stereo Power the Custom Third Brake Light Camera for Aftermarket Monitor 3460007?

Question:
Have a 99 f350. Im putting an aftermarket Sony radio that has a port for a backup camera. Im interested in the 3rd brake light backup camera. On this website it says I would need to power this camera by hooking up to the truck battery? Wouldnt the stereo feed it power? Does this come with instructions? Thanks Ross

No, the stereo wouldn't supply the power for the Custom Third Brake Light Camera item # 3460007. The only thing that plugs into the stereo is the yellow RCA cable which provides video only. The camera has a power and ground wire setup (black and red bonded wire with black connectors) that you'll need to run directly to your battery according to the instructions that are included.
