Will the 47 Inch Saris Traps Base Fit a 2002 Saturn Vue

I have a Saturn Vue 2002 FWD 5-speed. I measured it yesterday and I think the 47inch will be too long but I didnt include the space over the side cubbies. Ill check again but still interested in recommendation. Also, dont know how long the vehicle will be with us so dont want a permanent hitch but can you tell me if the trunk mounted ones are easy enough for mefemale, age 55, small hands? I was looking at the inside one bcuz it looks easier for me, true? Thanks!

In addition to a 47 inch length, Saris also has a 35 inch length of the Traps base, # SATRK33, that you could use with the Bike Wheel Holder # SAWHL1. However I am not certain this is the best option for your 2002 Saturn Vue due to the height of the bikes and available space in the back of the Vue.
The best solution is going to be a hitch mount bike rack. If your Vue does not have a hitch then you can use # 13591 which is the most popular option. I have linked a video showing how it installs on a 2003 Vue.
Then you could use a hitch mount bike rack. I have included a link to the racks that fit a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver. If you can tell me how many bikes you want to carry I can make a more specific recommendation.
A trunk mount rack could be an option but it is going to require attaching the top straps to the top hatch of the vehicle and may not be the easiest solution for you.
