Question:

Is there an adapter or solution to mount this to a 2018 Honda Odyssey with factory roof rails and crossbars? Even the smallest u-bolt with this doesnt allow me to tighten the bracket around the thin elliptical shaped factory bars. It can slide quite a bit.

Hello Paul. This is a common problem with a lot of factory crossbars. Just last week we tried to mount a kayak carrier on some Ford factory bars and we had the same problem. The factory crossbars were way too thin and curved and it made things difficult. Unfortunately, there is no alternative mounting kit that can be used the Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket # TH859XT-8591XT.

The best solution that we can offer is to remove the factory bars, and install an aftermarket roof rack. I recommend the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MAL24AR. It uses a more standard 1" x 3" aero bar and the price point isn't too hard on the wallet.
