Question:
Hi, Is it possible to install this on a higher than 3500lbs rated axle? If possible, what is the maximum rated axle we can use it for? thank you.

Hey Jude,
The Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD59FR are designed to fit a 3,500 lb axle. There may be some outliers like a 3,750 lb or 4,400 lb axle that could use them if they have the same bearing combination with a #84 spindle. However, the brakes will still be rated for 3,500 lbs.
If you have a #84 spindle with an axle rated above 3,500 lbs and want disc brakes you don't really have another choice. Assuming your loaded trailer exceeds the capacity of the brakes I would expect diminished stopping power. If you have something like a boat trailer and your weight is under 3,500 lbs with your boat loaded it wouldn't be a problem at all.
If you have a higher rated axle like a 5,200 lb it will have a completely different bearing combination so you would need a different kit like # KOD69FR.
