Replacing A Dometic Duo-Therm 57915.541 With An Advent Air Low Profile Condenser Unit

Updated 07/30/2025 | Published 05/06/2024

Question:

Looking for a replacement for a Dometic Duo-Therm model 57915.541, cooling only no heat pump, with analog thermostat. Does the Advent AC come with a control box, or do we swap out the Dometic control box from the original unit? Also, can we use the existing Dometic analog thermostat?

Hi Ken,

The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup # ASA99YR only replaces the rooftop condenser unit and would plug into the Dometic controller. Since you don't have a heat pump you'll likely have a 6-pin wire harness connector, but I'd still pull the air distribution box cover and confirm that you do. If you find you have a 9-pin connector instead then you'll just need to pick up an adapter # ACCOLKIT.

With this style of replacement your current air distribution box, controller, and wall thermostat would all still be used.

Do you have installation manuals for the ASA99YR and ASA38YR? I have 2 customers, one with Dometic Brisk II 13.5k and one with a Carrier 15k, that will need replacement soon.

@KenS The manufacturer, ASA Electronics, unfortunately doesn't have a manual online for the low profile # ASA38YR and # ASA99YR so we don't currently have one tied to the part, but we do have an installation video where John will walk you through the process. When you purchase the unit there should be a paper copy of the manual included in the box.

Hi Kevin C., I'm asking about this same setup you say will work just replacing the rooftop unit from Dometic 57915.541 just ac, with 6 prong plug with analog system to an Advent low profile unit. Will I need to use Advents freeze sensor or reuse the dometic sensor?

@NickH We actually do not recommend this route for replacing an AC unit anymore as we have found that it doesn't work as reliably as we'd like it to. So best option would be to replace your upper unit with the same one that you have now (we don't carry Dometic) or to go ahead and replace all of the components of your AC unit setup like with the part # FR69TD.
