Can BoatBuckle Vertical Rod Hold-Down PLUS System Be Mounted With Velcro
Published 05/06/2024 >
Question:
I have a Tahoe Q6 fiberglass boat. Id like to mount these inside to the carpet glued to the gunwales. I dont want to use screws, as theyll go through the side of the fiberglass. Can these be mounted to the carpet with velcro?

You could mount the BoatBuckle Vertical Rod Hold-Down PLUS System # IMF15435 using Velcro but I'm not sure how well it will hold up. Realistically it will depend on the Velcro used and the type of carpet. I definitely wouldn't try using adhesive backed Velcro if you decide to do this. Since the strap runs all the way around the rod holder you would want to stitch the Velcro onto the strap to make sure it stays into place. You might also want to run a small bolt with a nut and washer through the holder and strap (or anything else you can think of) to keep them together as one piece.
