How Much Sag Reduction will Timbren Installed On Truck Towing Fifth Wheel
Updated 04/30/2024 | Published 04/29/2024 >
Question:
I have a 2024 GMC 2500HD and recently purchased a Brinkley Z2900 fifth wheel. Ive been to scales and it weighs in at around 13K lbs with a pin weight of 2260. Im well within payload and weight ratio specs. My truck sags about 2 3/4 inches in the rear when loaded and the front doesnt change much but I do lose 180 lbs off the front axle. Seems to drive fine but considering timbrens to level things up. How much of the sag will the timbrens take out? Also, trailer if almost level or even slightly nose low right now. Will I have to adjust height of hitch to keep trailer level if timbrens are added?

Hey Brian, this is a great question but I can't really tell you exactly how much sag would be reduced with the Timbren kit part # TGMRCK25D but I'd say it would pretty easily take out at least half of the sag. I'd say under normal circumstances it would sag probably right at 1 to 1-1/2 inches.
If you are slightly nose high currently then yeah I would assume you'd need to slightly adjust the hitch head height.
