Solution for Replacing Dometic AC Unit with 2 Speed Fan with Advent that has 3 Speed

Question:

I bought a low profile advent 15000 ac. My question is the motor is 3 speed but my previous dometic was only high or low, will the advent thermostat work with the 3 wire dometic thermostat set up? If my original thermostat only gives 2 speeds what speeds are the advent running?

Hey Anthony, in this situation in the past we've had to recommend going with a new control and vent assembly with the Air Distribution Box w/ Wall-Mounted Thermostat for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACRG15 which includes everything you need, and it will all be an exact replacement for your current components. I gather in this situation it will still work with the Dometic 2 speed control? What two speeds are available of the three?

@David We've heard mixed messages on that from people who have tried this. Some people have told us that it didn't work at all whereas we've also heard that only the two lower speeds work with this setup. I would be inclined to believe it's the two lower speeds as that is what seems to be the most often found answer to this we've found.

@JamesonC Thanks for the response. I'll be performing this swap out soon. I'll let post the results here, for future reference. The lower speeds truthfully are better at humidity removal and cooling. However too low of an air flow results in pressures being too great within the system.
