What Plugs Into Standard Flat Trailer Wiring Outlet on a Car

Question:
Help! I just bought a car with a trailer hitch and a plug. I can’t figure out what goes in the plug. It’s electrical but a flat female end. I can send you a picture.

Hey Savas, you probably have a standard 4 pole harness which would normally be used with something like the Curt Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C47NR.
The wire end would normally already be wired into the trailer and the plug end would get plugged into your vehicle. If you have something different let me know down below in the comments and we'll get to the bottom of this.
