Are You Able to Replace a 15" Wheel With 5 on 5" Bolt Pattern With a 16" Wheel?

Question:
I have trailer rims that are 5JX15, 5 on 5 bolt pattern. Will a 15 x 6 5 on 5 rim work? Or do I need to have the 15 x 5 rim. Thank you.

Expert Reply:
If you have enough clearance for a larger 16" diameter wheel and tire and can find wheels specifically for trailer use you can switch from your current 15" Wheel # TA93ZR. It may prove difficult to find the larger 16" diameter with the 5 on 5" bolt pattern as those bolt patterns typically aren't strong enough for the weight capacity a 16" tire is built for. So you may also experience a harsher ride quality.
