Double Lip Seal Recommendation For 5200 LB Dexter Tandem Axles
Updated 04/23/2014 | Published 04/22/2014 >
Question:
Hello, I have a 5th wheel camper 1998 Starcraft Leisure Star 28 with tandem Dexter 5,200lb axles. I ordered new brake assemblies today two each: 23-458 and 23-459, as well as new seals. I gave the sales rep the part number of my original seals 10-1, but she said that your company didnt carry them. Instead, she said that there was a new part number 10-10 for a double lip seal that you carried. I went ahead and ordered four of the 10-10 double lip seals. I would like a double lip seal, but need to be assured that it will fit and seal correctly in place of the single lip seal. Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
Part # GS-2125DL seals are double lip seals and have the same dimensions as the single lip seal. The double lipped seals retain the grease inside the hub and help keep water and dirt out better than the single lip seals.
