Hi, Regarding this product: Curt RockerBall 2-5/16 Shock Absorbing Hitch Ball and Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab - 7.5K Item # C45WR Is this available in a longer length? In the description it states the following: Ball mount length: 7-1/2 from center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole 5-1/2 From center of ball hole to center of sway control ball hole I would like to my tailgate and have more clearance so that the tailgate does not hit the trailer jack. P.S. I need a 2 ball vs. 2 5/16 ball. Thanks in advance.

The only option that comes from Curt is the # C45WR with the 7-1/2" ball mount length. If you want a longer ball mount you would have to put one together. You could use the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C40047 along with something like the # D-4 which is 10-1/4" long. Make sure to measure so you get the right length. Then you will need to attach the Curt Weld-On Sway Control Tab # C45822.

If I wanted a similar set up, but extended, couldn’t I get this item and add the Curt Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" Long, Part Number: C4579…to go with rocker ball and sway control? Thanks.

@JoshuaG you can try it if you want but I wouldn't recommend it. The # C45791 is going to cut your hitch capacity. Also, you're applying additional forces with the sway bar that aren't normally applied to this kind of extension. On top of that, with the extender, and the RockerBall, you're going to have a lot of movement going on at the rear which may make the ride quality worse instead of better.

@RobinH, thanks for the quick response. So, is there any option to extend the hitch from my tow vehicle and use the rocker ball with or without the sway bar.

@JoshuaG an extended ball mount like the one from the original answer is the best way to do that. The RockerBall # C40047 can fit standard ball mounts that have a 1" diameter hitch ball shank. If you really want the sway tab for a sway bar that is where it gets more complicated because it requires welding. I'm guessing this is for a specific setup so you would want to choose an extended ball mount with the right rise/drop so you're level.
