Question:
Right wheel trailer bearings failed disintegrated and hub/drum came loose on my dexter 4400 lb axle #5736570 for my 2019 Forest River Heritage Glen 282RK travel trailer. It destroyed both hub/drum and brand new brake assembly. Ive read the very similar QandA titled Replacement Hub Assembly And Drum Brake For My Dexter 8-407 4.4K Axleinch and based on that response I ordered both : * Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 4,400-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10inch Diameter - 6 on 5-1/2, part # 8-407-5UC3-EZ and * Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - 10inch - Right Hand - 4,400 lbs, part # K23-479-00. Although Ive cleaned off the axle spindle of grease and bearing shrapnel, the destruction means I didnt have opportunity to disassemble a working hub/brake assembly. This makes it challenging to know what additional parts if any are supposed to be removed or purchased in order to match replacement new assembly kit I ordered. Specifically, the two rings on the spindle yellow arrow in picture look like they could be removed from the spindle if persuaded. Should they come off and are replacements included with the assembly pack I ordered? Or are they separate parts I need to order? Thanks!

Hey Rob, sorry to hear about the problems you had with your current hub/drums. The good news is you did order everything you would need and no additional parts would be necessary. The two pieces you pointed out with your yellow arrows do need to come off as they are parts of the old bearings that were destroyed.
