2018 GLS 450 - cant figure out how rack attaches to factory side rails. there are no crossbars. installation pdf does not show. Do i need a crossbar - assume I do. any recommedations? malone ? which model goes best with lockrack? i would rather have cross bars INSIDE factory rails with no overhang. LMK thanks John

Hey there John, we can definitely get your 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS set up with a roof rack to go between your raised side rails. While I'm not 100% sure what rack you meant when you mentioned no crossbars, I can tell you that you definitely do need crossbars.
And since you want a style that goes between the rails (called a flush-mount style), the Malone # MPG215 wouldn't be an option as they overhang. Instead, the only flush-mount rack that fits your Mercedes is from Rhino-Rack:
- Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack # JA8938
The StealthBar # JA8938 is low profile, extending just under 1-1/2" above your side rails and also super easy to install by wrapping the rubber-coated stainless steel straps around your side rails.
So you'll have the flush-mount look you want, and will be a superb way to mount the Lockrack Adjustable Watersport Carrier # LR24VR.
