Hey what's up Allen thanks for your question. Do you happen to know what compressor system your friend is using? A lot of the newer Air Lift compressors such as the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor # AL58WQ are automatic. If he has the PSI set to a certain level, the compressor will automatically add air to get back to the pre-set level. It sounds like that might be what your friend is describing - just the compressor topping off the air bags from time to time. I am not sure what part of the country y'all are in, we are here in Missouri and the below freezing temps can definitely cause air bags to drop a few PSI here and there. An air leak could also cause the compressor to kick on more often than it should, but hopefully that is not the case.
There would be no way to turn off this feature with an automatic compressor. The only way to prevent this would be to disconnect the compressor from power.
