Parts Needed to Add 7-Way to 2024 Hyundai Palisade Limited

Question:

I have a 2024 Palisades Limited AWD, so it comes with the tow mode button. All Palisades say they come with the trailering pre-wiring but on your website the wire harnesses say Without tow package. Trying to understand what I need for a 7 pin connector. Does the pre-wiring only do 4pin?

The factory wiring for both the 2023 and 2024 Hyundai Palisade has been a complicated subject. The pre-wiring you're referring to is not an actual trailer connector. You should have factory wiring and connectors which will allow you to add an OEM 7-way. I understand it says they all have this, but I would make sure you can find it on your particular vehicle if you plan to use it. There have been a lot of reports on forums where people said the connection was missing.

At this time, nobody makes aftermarket wiring that will connect to the factory port on your Palisade. If you want to go the aftermarket route you will need to install the Tekonsha # TK64CR you were looking at. The 4-way portion of the wiring harness will plug into the connection points behind your taillights. The rest of the wiring for the 7-way will run up to the cab/engine compartment. This also includes a wiring adapter that will plug directly into Tekonsha brake controllers like the # 90195.

If you want to use the factory wiring the only option is to install the OEM 7-way from Hyundai. It may be readily available at this point but last year people had to order it from Canada. There was some kind of issue with a potential fire hazard they have since fixed so no local dealers were carrying it.

And what about the brake controller side. The 2020-2022 palisade had the curt c77br option so you didn’t have to cut OEM wires. Is there an equivalent for the 2023-2024 models?

@Dan the # C77BR may fit but we have not confirmed it yet. At this time, no manufacturer lists an adapter for the 2024 model. Since it fits the 2024 Santa Cruz it is likely it will work assuming you have the port under your dash. You're welcome to test it, we just can't guarantee compatibility.
