Question:
Are snow chains a good idea as well as chains on pull vehicle, or a waste of resources.

It sounds like you are wanting to also run tire chains on a trailer you are pulling. This is a good idea as the chains can help prevent the tires from sliding on the trailer. This will help prevent it from sliding side to side and also help with braking should you have trailer brakes. The Konig # TH01594225 are a great option as they are self tensioning and have the diamond pattern which gives more lateral traction. These fit the most common 205/75-14 tire size for trailers.
