Is 40 ft lbs Torque Exactly Required to Install the Threaded Pin of the Swagman Rack part # S64663

Question:
this threaded pin that secures the rack assembly as it goes into the hitch has to tighten to 40 lbs Can it be tighten with a regular wrench. I want to make sure is safely secured. Thank you for your help.

Yes, 40 ft lbs is pretty snug but not overly tight for installing the threaded pin on the Swagman Platform Rack part # S64663. While having exactly 40 ft lbs of torque on the pin every time you install this rack would be nice we don't expect you to use a torque wrench everytime you install this rack.
I would recommend you use a torque wrench the first time you install the threaded pin to give you an idea how tight it needs to be and then use a regular wrench after that to get it about that tight.
If you wanted to upgrade to a locking hitch pin you would want part # S64027. I attached a review video for you to check out.
