Would a U-Bolt Mount Be Stronger at Holding a Cargo Case The the Yakima 23H Accessory Adapter?
Question:
Is the 23h Yakima mounts strong enough for a cargo case? Or would the universal U-bolts be better for that? Thanks you

A kit like the Replacement Hardware Kit # TH05603 is going to be much better than the Yakima Mighty Mount 23H Accessory Adapter # Y03523. The hardware kit uses U-bolts with large plates of of steel to disburse the clamping force over a larger surface area. The 23H adapter only uses a single bolt hole to secure the cargo case. This small hole is more likely to become damaged over time since the weight will not be disbursed over as large of a surface area.
