Question:
I have a 16 foot 7000 pound tandem axle. With 205 75 15 5 on 4.5 I was thinking 225 75 15 2400 pound aluminum wheels and tires. Will there a clearance problem. Youre thoughts ? Thank you

Expert Reply:
The 225/75-15 tires will be about 1" bigger in diameter and wider than your current 205/75-15 tires so as long as you have about 4-1/2" of current height clearance and 2-1/2" of clearance from your tire sidewall to your trailer frame you'll be good to go.
We don't have any 225/75-15 pre-mounted on aluminum wheels but we have the parts available separately so you just need to have them mounted once you receive them. Here are the parts I recommend:
- Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # TTWTRTM2257515D
- Aluminum Margay Trailer Wheel # LH94VR
I really like this combination because it looks clean and both items are backed by the Lionshead Roadside Assistance Program so you get complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years.
