Does Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Need Ford Module

Question:

Can I purchase just the Redarc Elite brake controller for a 2021 Ranger Lariat Tremor with front collision warning and emergency braking option and not have to buy the Ford unit with the Lumen controller? If I run a wire from the red wire of the Redarc unit to the third brake light will that activate the trailer brakes if emergency braking engages, or do I also need the Lumen module? In other words, do I actually need to get the genuine Ford brake controller to operate the trailer brakes in an emergency braking activation?

You can install and use the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller # RED44FR without the Ford module as the wires are already run under the dash. But to activate the trailer brakes in emergency braking you would need to wire it to the brake light as you mentioned because the stop light switch wire from the dash does not activate those lights.
