Recommended Battery Isolator for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ a 150 amp Alternator

Hi, I have a 2014 gmc sierra 1500, I am interested in buying a isolator, my alternator is 150 amps, I am towing a travel trailer, with two deep cell batteries on the front of the trailer, which isolator, do you recommend, for this application? Thanks

Since your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 has a 150 amp alternator, I recommend the Redarc Smart Start Battery Isolator item # 331-SBI212 which is rated at 200 amps. You always want to go with an isolator that is rated for higher amps then your alternator to prevent damage.

With the Redarc Smart Start Battery Isolator item # 331-SBI212, you can transfer power from your truck battery to your auxiliary batteries without draining your battery. As long as your Sierra is on and the alternator is supplying power, the isolator will transfer some of that power to your auxiliary batteries. When your truck is shut off, the isolator will separate the connection and stop pulling power ensuring that your truck battery isn't dead when you go to start your truck.
