Tips For Removing Stuck Master Cylinder Cap On A Dexter T4750820 Actuator

Question:
What’s the trick to getting the master cylinder cap off? I have this coupler on my trailer and the plastic hex just flexes when trying to unscrew counterclockwise using a tight fitting 1-1/16” wrench. Any additional force and the plastic cap will certainly break. Thanks

Sometimes dust and dirt can get down in the threads of the master cylinder cap and they can get stuck on there real good. Unfortunately there is not really a trick to getting it off, other than using force. A little WD40 may help but I would use that as sparingly as possible. If you have no choice but to break the cap, it can be replaced with part # T4830601.
