Does Truck Need to be on Using ComeUp 5000si Winch
Updated 10/23/2023 | Published 10/21/2023 >
Question:
I have a Comeup winch in my trailer and there is also a battery in the trailer. My truck charges the trailer battery. While winching a car into the trailer recently, I left the truck and trailer connected and had the truck engine running. I had winched this car before no problem. Anyway, I while winching the car, I blew a 30-AMP fuse in the truck. I later learned the marine battery in the trailer was bad so I replaced it and the fuse. Sorry for long winded question here: When using the winch should I leave the truck running and connected to trailer or not? I can’t remember exactly what I’ve done in the past, but I believe I usually don’t have the truck engine running simply because I forget. Any help appreciated! Thanks

Nope, your truck does not have to be on to use the ComeUp UW-5000si Trailer Winch # CU645010.
It was probably the battery that caused the issue so you're set with your new one.
