Question:
Hello, I question the usefulness of the RAS 3611hd if I’m sized correctly on a 2019 GMC duramax 3500 DRW 4x4 Pulling a gooseneck trailer. The trailer and truck weigh nearly 24k empty. The trailer exerts 5500 pound tongue weight. It does cause 3 inches of squat. Will the RAS be functional? Would a combination of “stops” like Timbren be useful with the RAS? Or something else? Thanks

Absolutely a fair question, and for your 2019 GMC Sierra 3500, the RoadActive Suspension Kit # RAS3611-HD will be effective, though likely not perfectly level. It will level a truck that has between 2 and 3 inches of squat, though personally I'd lean more towards the 2 inch mark for the amount of pin weight you have. Timbrens or other bump stops won't be effective with this system, and for 5,500 lbs of pin weight you are much better off getting air bags:
- Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F2709
The # F2709 have a 7,500 lb rating so they'll exceed your 5,500 lb pin weight and give your '19 Sierra 3500 the best overall support to stay level and improve your truck's handling as you tow. This is absolutely the best route for suspension enhancement for your Sierra towing a gooseneck trailer.
I also highly recommend considering a compressor to make monitoring and maintaining the air bags much easier. The best option to do so is a wireless compressor, the Firestone Dual Air Command System w/ Heavy Duty Compressor # F99VV.
