What is Purpose of Yellow Octagon Washers of Correct Track Alignment System

Question:
On the correct track part # LC303918, what is rhe Yellow octagon washer for? I have a 2018 highland ridge light, with these on it and had one of these hangers broke. Is it a must that I replace this hanger with the same one or can it be replaced with a single hole?

The hole in the yellow octagon is offset from the center which when installed in the slotted hanger like the part # LC303918 gives you the ability to set an exact alignment with the other sides hanger but using the same configuration by simply rotating them.
If you went to a hanger that just had a single hole you would not need to use the yellow octagons.
