Good morning, We are asked to set up a hitch install for a 2014 Subaru Cross Trex XV non-hybrid. They like Curt Hitch C13135. Can you tell me what wiring harness and brake control I will need for this installation and any other parts I may need. I am new to this position and want to make sure I take care of this customer. We can definitely set you up with a wiring harness and brake controller for the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek non-Hybrid that you are working on.
First you will need to install the Curt 4-Pole Flat T-Connector # C56040. This will be a very straightforward plug and play install.
Then you will need to install the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This kit contains everything you will need to upgrade the 4-flat connector to a 7 way. You will then be able to install a brake controller.
For a brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. This is a very solid proportional controller. The controller itself will be completely hidden behind the dash. You will install the control knob in your desired location and that is the only visible part of the controller. So it is easy to use, and it will have a clean factory look to it. You will also need the Redarc Universal Wiring Harness # RED69FR to complete your installation.
