Will 4,500 lb Axle Leaf Springs # e27SR Work on Trailer with 4,400 lb Axles
Published 10/04/2023 >
Question:
I asked a question about leaf springs. 4400lbs axles x 2 and current 2200lb springs x 2 per axle. I was told that 4500lb springs would work. That would be 9000lb springs per axle totaling 18000lbs for both axles on a maxed out trailer of 7900lbs. Isnt that way too much springs and beat the crap out of the trailer ?

Expert Reply:
The trailer leaf springs we carry are rated by the axle when used in pairs and not individually. Since you have 4,400 lb axles the 4,500 lb axle springs we carry part # e27SR would be the correct rating. Each individual spring is rated for 2,250 lbs.
