Solution for MORryde Pin Box on Fifth Wheel Trailer that Moves Forward and Back A Lot

Updated 10/04/2023 | Published 10/03/2023

Question:

I have a this pin box with a #3 rubber on a fifth wheel with a gvw r of 11400. Not happy with the chucking. It seemed too soft and continues moving back and forth long after the bump. Would going to a #4 rubber help that

Going with a stiffer shear spring in your MORryde pin box isn't the best solution to your problem. Instead of the pin box moving that force would be more transferred to the fifth wheel trailer and would actually chuck harder. The best way to prevent the chucking is to go with a fifth wheel hitch that has a tighter jaw design that will limit movement more and prevent the chucking.

I don't know what you have now hitch-wise but the B and W Patriot part # BWRVK3200 has a very tight jaw design as well as tight tolerances overall so it would be a very quiet and smooth fixed hitch. If you have a short bed truck and need a slider hitch we have a slider version with the part # BWRVK3270.
