Question:
Looking to purchase Air Lift 25850 kit. Installation videos show mounting compressor on the frame rail on F150. Air Lift instalation instructions says to LOCATE COMPRESSOR IN DRY, PROTECTED AREA ON VEHICLE. DIRECT SPLASH OR EXCESSIVE MOISTURE CAN DAMAGE THE COMPRESSOR AND CAUSE SYSTEM FAILURE. Yet they show mounting to frame rail. Is this considered a dry protected areainch ?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, it is. The inside of the frame rail is the recommend mounting location for the Air Lift Load Controller Compressor System item # AL25850 you were looking at. The don't want you putting it near the wheel well where it will have a constant spray of water so that's why they direct you to mount it on the inside of the frame.
If you haven't already purchased a set of air bags, I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs item # F2582. This fit both the 2WD and 4WD models of the 2019 Ford F-150. They have a 4,800 lbs load leveling capacity that will keep your rear end from sagging when you're pulling a trailer or hauling a heavy load in your truck bed.
