Replacement Furrion RV AC Unit for Dometic Blizzards on Heartland Big Horn

Updated 05/27/2024 | Published 09/18/2023

Question:

I have a 2016 Heartland Bighorn with 2 Dometic Blizzard 15K units on it. PN: 541816A711J0 They have been nothing but trouble. What do I need to replace both with Furrion 15.5 HE Chill units or can it be done

Since you have Dometic units currently you'd want the Furrion Chill HE RV AC Unit part # FR42PV which gives you the 15k unit you are looking for and was also designed to replace Dometic units so you'd have an easier install and you'd be able to use all the current controls you have now.

Hi, I am in the same situation. I have a Dometic 541816A711J0 and am looking to find a replacement. Is there an Advent unit that works as an exact replacement in addition to the FR42PV? For reference, I do not have a hole in my ceiling (it is fully ducted) and there is no controller visible from inside the unit (there is a Dometic Thermostat on the wall though). I would like to use the existing Dometic controller and thermostat.

@Mark Advent Air does have an AC unit that was designed to fit your exact setup with the part # ACDOM150. This fits your ducted setup and would allow you to use your current Dometic controls.

@JamesonC I have the Dominic blizzard nxt, I have no access from inside the trailer. The old unit has the control box mounted on side of roof top unit. I purchased the advent ac but it on has a 6 pin wire. The old unit has 2 thermostat plugs, 120volt wire and a few other wires, what am I not get this advent to work on my unit?
