Recommended Tonneau Cover Options For A 2023 Ford F-350 With 8' Bed

Question:

I am researching tonneau covers for my 2023 Ford F350 Super Duty truck. It has an 8 foot beet with a spray in liner and the stock ford bed rail cap. I am seriously looking at hard folding covers. Eventually I will have 2 5th wheel puck system and hitch. I talked to a local dealer yesterday and he advised against a hard folding cover. He has seen what happens when the Styrofoam filler gets wet, He says the cover gets very heavy because the Styrofoam absorbs and holds the water. Is this true? I cant any information on that issue.

Not every cover uses a styrofoam filler so it's really dependent on the materials used and the overall quality of the cover. Styrofoam can absorb water though so what you heard isn't untrue. Since you'll have a trailer hitch in the bed the easiest option would be to either use a roll-up or retractable cover to avoid having any issues with the cover being in the way while hauling your trailer.
