Why Would The Exhaust Become Louder After Installing EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver 2016 Honda HR-V

Good afternoon, I am writing to ask if it is common for a muffler to be louder after installing an ECO hitch? I recently bought an ecohitch from your company and got it installed on my 2016 Honda HRV. Now the muffler is much louder. Are there common solutions to this problem? Thank you!

It sounds like your exhaust was damaged by the installer when they installed the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7322 on your 2016 Honda HR-V. There are a few welds in your exhaust which could have cracked if they did not properly support the exhaust. There is also an exhaust flange just in front of the rear suspension. You will want to also check there to determine if the flange was damaged or if they removed the exhaust and forgot to tighten back up the flange to seal the system.
