Question:

Hello I have a 2020 sierra duramax denali HD with Allison transmission. It does have a 2 lo 2 hi 4 low 4 high and a ion in between marked as auto. It has auto D L and R at gear station on steering wheel. Can I flat tow it behind motorhome?

According to the owner's manual you can flat tow a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 as long as it has a 2-speed transfer case with a 4WD low and neutral. The wording isn't the best to determine if you have a two-speed transfer case so I recommend reaching out to a local GM dealership with your VIN to determine if you have one or not. If you do have one then I have the following recommendations:

Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM86FR.

Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # e84ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables included as well so you won't have to purchase them separately.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will splice into your factory wiring to display your motorhome's traffic signals through the tail lights of the Sierra. You'll need to disconnect the battery before towing your Sierra as well.

Braking System: If your motorhome has hydrualic brakes then I recommend the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. If it has air brakes then you'll need the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243 instead.
