Is this Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box the correct one for my 2023 Heartland BigHorn 3970RL?

The pin box on your 2023 Heartland BigHorn 3970RL is a Lippert 1621. The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY38FR will fit the bolt pattern but I'm not 100% sure it is the correct capacity. You need to make sure your tongue weight falls within the range of the system.

Gen-Y uses the formula GVWR x 0.22 = Tongue Weight for pin box selection. I wasn't able to find the GVWR for your particular 5th wheel so you will have to figure out which hitch is the correct fit. Based on an older 3970 you need one of the following:

-Gen-Y # GY38FR (If your tongue weight calculation is 2,600-3,599 lbs)

-Gen-Y # GY66FR (If your tongue weight calculation is 3,600-4,599 lbs)

Once you find your tongue weight match it with one of the two options above and you're all set.
