What can you answer this? Am I looking for a ground to come out of my brake light switch when applying the brake pedal am I looking for 12 V coming out of the brake light switch when I hit my brake pedal going to the controller

When the brake pedal is depressed it will send out 12v power through the brake light switch wire to the Tuson DirecLink Base Model Trailer Brake Controller # 335DL-100, telling it to activate the brakes on the trailer.
