Can 2012 Subaru Legacy Rubber Exhaust Isolator Be Touching Trailer Hitch
Updated 08/23/2023 | Published 08/22/2023 >
Question:
Hi-just installed this hitch on my 2012 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited dual exhaust. Difficult install, but turned out great. One concern: the muffler exhaust hanger insulators one each side are squeezed against the hitch side plates. There is no vibration or rattling, as the mufflers themselves dont make contact. The hangars welded to the car body cant be moved, and the clearance up there is extremely tight with the hitch side plates. Should I try to bend the hangers on the mufflers not sure I could clear them enough out of the way, or should I just leave it be?

As long as it is just the rubber isolators on your 2012 Subaru Legacy exhaust that are touching the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13158 I wouldn't worry about it. You can try moving the hangers on the muffler some but basically as long as you don't have metal-on-metal contact and there isn't any noise happening you're good to go.
