How To Mount A Trailer Tongue Jack On A Tongue That Flares Out At The Bottom

Question:
I have acquired a utility trailer that needs a trailer tongue jack installed. However, the shape of the tongue is not entirely square. It has lips on either side, or ledges that come off the bottom. How would you suggest I install with this sort of tongue? See pictures fora better idea of what I am talking about. Maybe there is a filler piece I can add? Also, do you have a spare tire and wheel, and a spare tire mount that I could add to this trailer? Thank you.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since the tongue of your trailer flares out you could just cut a piece of wood to match the angle of the flare to square up the tongue and then clamp-on the etrailer Round/Wheeled Swivel Jack # e79CR. If the trailer stays outside a majority of the time you could coat the wood with an exterior paint or use composite to prevent it from rotting.

I thought I’d be stuck with a partially assembled Jack, as we walked up to install it on my trailer. Your fix was the first one that showed up in my Google search. Simple! Yet I never would have considered it. Thank you for taking time to answer!
